This year’s Opening Ceremony will take place at the ‘Los Jardines de Cecilio Rodriguez in Retiro Park, which is located very close to the Puerta de Alcala and not far from the famous Prado Museum.

Retiro Park, a former royal garden, is now a green oasis in the centre of Madrid with 125 hectares and 15,000 trees. Inside Retiro Park, the Jardines de Cecilio Rodríguez (classical gardens of an Andalusian style) is a must-see attraction when visiting Madrid, one you’ll remember years afterward for its simple and colourful beauty as these enclosed gardens have a very special feature: numerous peacocks that wander around the maze-like bushes, trees and quaint ponds.

The Opening Ceremony will officially open the congress with a diverse programme including the Robert Frank lecture and the announcements of the CED-IADR Award Winners (Robert Frank Awards and Travel Stipends Awards) and NOF Award Winners.
Following the official part, it is your opportunity to spend a nice evening with your colleagues while enjoying few tapas and drinks in this beautiful ambience.

For congress participants, the participation at the Opening Ceremony is for free, but advanced registration is mandatory! If you want to attend this event we kindly ask you to register in advance during your online registration.
